We stayed a total of 4 nights--2 when we first arrived in Egypt and 2 as we left. The hotel is located in an area with tree-lined streets, within walking distance (10-15 min) of many excellent and varied restaurants. We booked superior rooms with views of the Nile; they were spacious, comfortable, with well-used (not yet shabby) furnishings. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of a day tour to Alexandria that was promoted by the front desk. Breakfast was included in our rate; omelets were made to order and there was a good variety of pastries, cereals, and fruit. It was well-priced. I would return. Another plus was the 24 hr internet cafe across the street and the Metro market for great groceries and snacks.

We were very disappointed with the quality and value for money at the Flamenco.Hallways were dirty and in disrepair,rooms were large but shabby. The restaurant was understaffed leading to shortages on the buffet tables.One morning I had to search for and pour my own coffee as their was no wait staff available. This hotel is certainly not worth $124, nor the $139 quoted on the internet.We wondered how the Flamenco had been given a four star rating.It certainly was not a four star hotel. We stayed in three star establishments that were better than the Flamenco. We certainly will have to question whether or not we will stay in another Golden Tulip hotel.
